2003 Annual Awards and Dinner Dance: A huge turn-out (180 plus) for the annual dinner. Many congratulations to Adam Constable who was elected as the Shenington Driver of the Year. Ron Dee (our starter who is retiring now) was added to the Roll of Honour (life honorary membership). Other special awards were won as follows:

Shell Advance Rotax O Plate and Festival Meeting 27/28/29 June: The meeting was a huge success and Shenington KRC would like to thank all sponsors and competitors. £12.000 worth of prizes were handed out and highlights of the meeting will appear soon on the FASTRAX programme on SkySports and Channel 5 (early Thursday mornings). Novice driver Evan Woolcock won the raffled bare Rotax engine, Chris Lamare won an engine in the senior O Plate class, and Adam Christodoulou won two engines for his stupendous success in winning both MiniMax and Rotax Junior O Plates. Adam Christodoulou has been offered an all expenses trip with his guardian to Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt for the Rotax Junior Max Grand Finals as on of his prizes for winning the Junior Rotax UK O Plate. He will be flown to Egypt in January 2004 where a kart, engine, tyres and fuel will be provided for the race. Other than meals etc, the only major expense for him will be to pay for any chassis damage. The prize winner will represent the United Kingdom in the new Junior world finals at the Ghibli Raceway International. Sharm-el-Sheikh is a popular resort for diving and holidaying on the Red Sea, the race is probably going to be held on the third weekend of January 2004. As in the senior category, Bridgestone YGK tyres will be used at the Grand Finals (though the usual tyres will be used at the O Plate) and the British entrant will be racing against drivers aged up to 17 years old. This is a fantastic opportunity for Adam to make a mark at world level and Shenington KRC is very grateful to JAG Engineering for awarding this additional prize. Go here for details of the circuit. Banbury Guardian SuperPrix: 14/15 June - The winning team was the David Charles Group. Eighteen historic karts were on display, many demonstrated on the track on both Saturday and Sunday. Go to results of June 15 for results of the meeting and here for details and pictures of the historic karts.
