Your gearing certainly shouldn't cause you to bog. What chassis and of what age are you using? In particular, any OTK variant i.e. Tony Kart, Alonso, Kosmic etc. with a crack in the frame, even a hairline crack, can cause these symptoms. Have a close look around the frame, particularly around the rear axle bearing carrier on the engine side. If you've not had problems up until now, this could be your problem. We've experienced this on a few occasions
