I did one race at Hooton last year and am planning on doing this season. The race I did I was competitive with less done to the engines than the ones you list and on a year 2000 chassis. As well as open engines they also run open tyres which can have a big effect on the laptimes.
I really enjoyed my outing last year, hence why I'm going back, friendly club and lots of help available with the prokart grid.
