We have the small OTK and struggled to get it to work well on medium pads. We went to soft pads and the difference was like night and day. When the brake is working properly (typical OTK high maintenance required) the feel and power is very good. We buy the Ł6.95 a set wizz karts pads off ebay - item number 291624558710 for a single set, they do multiple sets for less per set.
My lad is a very late braker and heavy on brakes, so we go through about 1 set every 1 to two meetings (practice and race day), these pads seem kind to the disc too.
If you go for cheap pads you might need the medium compound if you are on the larger disc; they will have less bite.
