Peter,
Obviously your comments are of concern which is why I’d welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you. We don’t have you listed as a customer so I can’t email you but it may be that ‘PeterCliff’ is a pseudonym? I will PM you via this forum and perhaps we can discuss this further as I would like the opportunity to listen to, and address your concerns?

With regard to comments raised on this thread: Firstly, Jet-Tech software is not a ‘Total rip off’. We are the only software provider that guarantees the accuracy of our products. Jet-Tech software has been in continuous development since 1998 and we worked with manufacturer when developing the IAME Cadet product. Yes, there are various ‘apps’ out there and some of them are free. However, there is no comparison with a professional product that not only works in the correct way but delivers accurate results. If you want to get into the ball-park, fine but what is the point? We are aware of only one other product available that comes close to delivering the accuracy of Jet-Tech and that product costs more than double the price of Jet-Tech – which incidentally has not had a price increase since 2008. How many other karting related products have not increased in cost during that time?

We have achieved the level of accuracy by using our unique Dynamic Simulation Model© to precisely model how the various carburettors that we cover work and by incorporating a unique calibration facility into all versions of Jet-Tech software. Unlike other products on the market, Jet-Tech uses its unique calibration to exactly match your individual engine/carb/exhaust combination and setup. These unique features together with other things, that we don't reveal for commercial reasons, enable us to achieve a guaranteed accuracy of within 0.299%. No other vendor does or can claim this level of accuracy.

We have over 6500 customers in 80+ countries around the world using our software and our business continues to grow which means we will continue to develop and meet new challenges as rules and classes change. The purchase of Jet-Tech software is a one-off. We do not charge on-going license fees and all updates to the software are free.

Regarding the Jet-Tech Weather Pro weather station: Firstly, you do not have to use a Jet-Tech weather station. The software enables you to calibrate any weather station. Our units are manufactured by a company that we have had a long relationship with. We used to supply other units but found the units available at our price-point to have a number of limitations. This is why we decided to invest in sourcing units directly. We provided a specification brief and this was met by our manufacturer. They do produce a similar unit for the general wholesale market. However, although outwardly similar, some of the components used are different.

To meet our requirements for quality and accuracy, the upgraded components and minimum order of 1000 units does, of course, have cost implications. It would have been cheaper and easier if we had simply re-badged a 'standard' offering but we provide a cast-iron warranty for these products so we had to be confident of the quality. We did consider having a unique moulding for the head units but that would have increased the cost further. So in the end we decided to utilise an existing moulding but with better quality/diffrent components and this gave us the right product at a price that compares well with similar specified units (Oregon Scientific for example). However, as I have mentioned, Jet-Tech software will calibrate any weather station so it is a customers’ choice what unit they would like to use.

I am the first to admit that we have had some communication delays in recent months due mainly to health issues that I do not feel are appropriate to discuss on an open forum. We have been absent from the forums due to time constraints and the volume of work and enquiries we have but are still very much in business. I would ask anyone who has any concerns to either PM me via this forum or email me.
