Originally the carb came from Dellorto with two overflow tubes.

It was then allowed to have one tube linking the two outlets.

There must however be a hole in it to allow the fuel to overflow if the needle jet has a problem.

Without the hole, any fuel would leak into the crankcase or airbox.

I always ran thw engine with a tube of open cell foam over the hole to prevent dirt and tiny bits of tyre marble from entering and finding its way into the main jet.
