There have been recent threads about some clubs having too many racing, which limits people's track time, whilst other clubs struggle to run financially viable events because of lack of numbers.

What if the msa published end of year driver rankings for all drivers who raced msa in each recognised class?

With some work, a system of points could be devised, which reflected the value of results, weighted by grid size. However at the same time, a driver who previously considered a good result being mid-pack in a big grid, might seek out a grid where he can compete at the front on the grounds that a win there, might achive more ranking points.

I can't think of an exact example but doesn't tennis have a system of world ranking based on the relative value of different tier events.

I just think it would encourage more people to travel and try different tracks. Also possibly, it gives a chance for some, who don't aspire super 1 glory (or can't afford to) but do like to travel, to see there efforts recognise by our governing body.
