Good debate but one thing you have forgotten, if your lad is tall he will need a bigger chassis as I know a few cadets that became uncompetitive because of their height. In a small cadet chassis tall drivers can’t get tucked down out of the wind losing a lot of time down the straights. The Briggs & Stratton world formula engine was unreliable, when running MSA 8 years ago at one meeting out of 26 karts 6 broke con-rods, 2 of my friends that ran them, they did the same, I question reliability! Our local track will let the taller drivers run prokart extremes, they love it & seem to manage the senior chassis OK.
