John Huff (Rye House manager who tried to help you) called me just after you left Rye House asking me to help you if I can. I agreed to help you..... if I can.
The first point to know is that you might fix certain problems but still not be able to start the motor immediately. For example, if you have 'flooded' the engine, then it can take a HELL of a push to get it started even though it's set up perfectly.
So, we need go though a series of elimination steps.
John tells me there was a spark so that's now not the most likely problem. It *could* still be, but.... (it might be too weak to spark while in the engine due to the compression, for example)
The next question is:-
Was the spark plug wet (with oil or petrol)? If it was, then the fuel is probably getting through. However, if it was dry and you pushed the kart as much as John said you did, then you have a fuel problem (carb/pump/tank/pipes/etc.) one way or another. Those problems are almost always easily solvable. The quickest cure is to borrow a carb. I have some.
I think you live fairly close to me (I am just south of Cambridge). I can always have a look at it (free) if you can get it up here to me. I also have a TKM starter motor which we CAN use to start a direct drive TKM motor. So, if you bring it to me, we can test it.

No matter what else happens, **DO NOT** try to start it by putting a rope or strap around the wheel and pulling it. Too many people suggest this one. It MAY work but it also may remove your finger/hand/arm/LIFE! It's not worth the risk no matter WHAT anyone else tells you. Just don't do it! Period!
