You're asking them to govern the ungovernable.

Axles do crack, even if you've examined them before going out.

Wheel studs fail if there has been contact during a race and sometimes due to poor maintenance but how the hell can you blame that on the MSA or the scrutineers, they can only check the kart on the day WITH the wheels that are fitted at the time of scrutineering, which is why you present the kart with a set of wheels on.

The incidence of failure is higher because of the higher grip tyres putting more stress on parts.

The humble K nut is one of the biggest causes of hub failure because people use new ones together with uncalibrated and misused impact tools.

Front wheel bearings are very poorly maintained on some karts. As are the rest of the bearings on some of the sheds that end up on the grid.

I don't quite understand why you capitalised the word Senior, it can happen to any class of kart and the driver might not be the mechanic.

The MSA don't govern the majority of karting, no where near it in fact, so even if they addressed the problem, it would only affect a small proportion.

In most cases the errant object comes to rest in a safe place.

If scrutineers had to re check every kart before a heat or race, your track time wouldn't even warrant you getting out of bed and turning up.

He probably forgot to make sure there were enough threads showing on the lock nut or may have put too many spacers on.

I've never understood why the front left stub axle didn't have a left hand thread on it, the cost is fairly small to incorporate in production.

You'll never eliminate the human factor or the numpty factor and Motorsport is dangerous according to the signs around the tracks.

You certainly don't see wheels and axles flying everywhere at 'most meetings' like you seem to suggest and high wire fences would spoil the enjoyment of watching the racing.

You can't lumber every single thing on 'governing bodies', we've got enough and even too much legislation in karting and people need to take some responsibility of their own and that's coming from someone who doesn't have much time for the MSA but I will defend them in this case.

You'll drive it completely into the ground eventually and there's not much poking out as it is.
