I don't have any issue with FKS creating an expensive championship for wealthy people. What annoys me is the whole talent search nonsense, which is nothing more than marketing BS. The 'first step to F1' rubbish pushed out by various karting series, including MSA club racing, is damaging to our sport and the sooner people start realising that the better.
What FKS are saying is come race with us and if you are any good move on to cars. Is that a good message for karting? No doubt the races will be full of racing teams massaging egos and persuading parents that a £100k drive in Formula XYZ should be their next step.
Enjoy karting for what it is, spend what you can afford as if it were any other leisure activity. Don't be fooled into thinking somebody is going to spot your incredible talent and take you up the ladder to a professional drive. The only way to do that is to spend your own cash and buckets of it.
