Thanks guys thats excellent advice, based on that I wont bother with a hard axle at the moment, I will just continue to manage the tyre cleanliness situation with the usual tools.....after the last final our tyres were nowhere near as minging as some of our competitors who did not "manage" them, the amount of pick-up on some tyres was quite an eye opener for me, I reckon they had a 2mm layer on them, talk about re-moulds!.... so I think we did something right.....thanks again.
