I received an e-mail this morning from Jess Fack,Development Manager MSA.(another new appointment ?)
This relates to a New Kart Competitor 2008-present,survey (there's a first ?)

"Dear Kart competitior, the MSA is conducting a survey of people that have taken out a first time kart licence during the above period/recent years.
The answers you provide will help us to gain a better understanding of how people get started in karting and what we can provide in terms of information and experiences in the sport that could make it easier and more constructive for newcomers to get involved in karting in the future.
This is an anomynous report so please answer honestly, but also answer as constructively as possible to help us shape the future of karting".
reply to :- www.snapsurveys.com.

NOW what does this suggest, have they just realised they have lost the plot in Karting and been left standing by the upsurge in INDY karting/non MSA or just people now just going for a test /play day on their equipment.
I would suggest REVENUES have plumeted, jobs at the H.Q. are in jeopardy ,officials have left as even they are becoming disillusioned.

Recently (last Deember)the MSA launched their MSA/IAME Cadet Kart Driver Scholarship,a free full kart to the four best applications from MSA Clubs regarding getting necomers out there. The supply of these karts as part of Mr Mills' contract for the rights to the IAME cadet engine supply 5 yr contract..the MSA website for a start said the entries had to be in by end of Jan 2013!!not 14, so what happened to the 4 karts and the Scholarship in 2013 ??.
Middle of Feb ,4 clubs were informed they had been succesful so all started the ball rolling, selecting a driver etc. The MSA annonced the winning clubs in MARCH,and whilst at PFI for the IAME/X30 rounds, I saw the karts in Mills showroom.I asked when the clubs would be getting them,he said the MSA had not told him anything more since announcing the winners.
It now transpires that one club selected Scholarship driver has nearly finished on Novice plates on borrowed equipment,2 x sponsors have pulled out as its now June and still no info from the MSA and a TV programme with the BBC cancelled.
The delay with The MSA rolling the Scholarship out is allegedly, they cannot decide on a STICKER kit for the 4 karts !!!!!!!!! as at 5pm Friday still no info as to when they will be sent out/collected..
This puts the MSA into perspective ,he is asking "What can we do",basically, Fack it all up as usual,
"lack of information, help us gain a better understanding, getting people started, make it easier and more constuctive",
I will TRY and contact this guy Monday and update.
