Fantastic advice here from people who have done/are doing it.

Thing is, motor sport isn't just about being the fastest it's also about being the smartest. The top drivers are able to drive without thinking about it, allowing themselves to concentrate on overtaking. It comes with practice, driving maturity, familiarity and total confidence in the kart and themselves. Undue pressure to overtake causes the very problems everyone moans about on these boards!

My son has just moved up to Senior TKM and feels so much more at home there than in Juniors that he's relaxed, not over-driving any more and pulling off some awesome overtakes, something I never thought he could do.

Make sure you and your lad are enjoying yourselves, follow the great tips here and the performance will come. Keep the pressure off him and I bet he can relax into his driving and you'll see a different lad on and off the kart. I know I do.
