Gearing (axle sprocket teeth) is always a compromise for the slower and faster parts of your track. As your driver gets faster round the corners the balance shifts in favour of the smaller rear sprocket for higher speed on the fast bits. If you are runing on a recognised track the accepted sprocket size for that track can be obtained by asking on here or at the track, or at l.k.r.c .co.uk

Imo at this stage you need to be using an Alfano or other lap timer to make progress.i
