Only 2 weeks to go before the start of the 2014 SCSS season and it looks like it's going to be a busy one with a record number of inquiries and plenty of pre season testing going on both in the week and at weekends.
The series provides a great cost effective way to go racing with entry at just £35.00 for seniors and £25.00 for cadet.
There are classes to suit any kart (with the exception of Bambino, although there is a race series staring up for these on the first Sunday of the month).
Classes catered for within the SCSS include Honda Cadets, Comer Cadets, Honda Juniors, Honda Seniors, Subaru Seniors, Rotax, TKM, Biland, Thunderkarts and any other 2 stroke.
Each round is run on one of 3 different circuit layouts and all classes feature 3 16-22 lap heats followed by a final. Points are awarded for each heat and final. The first 8 rounds count towards a Summer championship and the last 3 rounds towards a winter championship. The overall championship is the decided by points gain in these 2. The summer series the ability to drop 2 rounds. Last season saw over 150 drivers taking part throughout the season.
Round 1 is on March 16th with sign on open from 8.00am, drivers briefing at 9.45am and practice starting at 10.00am. The meeting usually ends around 4.00pm with the trophy presentation in the bar from 4.30pm.
You DO NOT have to be a member of the Stretton Kart club to race nor do you need to have a MSA license so the series is open to anyone.
We also have an onsite dyno this year for post race scrutineering.
There is NO pre entry requirements, you can simply turn up on the day (before 9.00am) and Enter.
A full copy of the series regulations is available on http://strettoncircuit.co.uk/2012sitefiles/2012pages/scss3.php
We are very much looking forward to getting the 2014 SCSS underway so please feel free to spread the word by sharing this post.
