Which hydraulic brake ? 3 types on a P1.
If it`s not new it could prob do with a seal kit to replace the seals in the master cyl and caliper,
Could be just the master cylinder piston, pull back the dust cover on the cyl, spray first with brake cleaner, blow out with airline, then spray with some wd40 or duckm oil, sometimes this gets neglected, water and dirt gets in there causing stiffness, give that a try first.
