Thanks for that Steve.
Steve, the McCulloch's were a few years before I started in 1983. I've got some retro kit myself - a very nice Parilla TT27, a DAP T70 and a PCR ST50 as well as a 1984 Deavinson Sprint which has been untouched in 24 years ! I had a 1979 Sprint, a Zip Californian and 3 Komet K77s which I sold in the past few months. The 1979 Sprint went to Australia !
I had an incredibly fast [and expensive] 5-port Hewland in 1984 but it broke my heart and I've had a disdain for them ever since.
The retro stuff's a lot of fun and the guys involved in it are great, but be careful what you take on as restoring/maintaining them is a bit of a pain in terms of parts sourcing etc... particularly the very old stuff.
