Ian, locally in one DAY this weekend 2 bikers have been killed and currently 5 are in local hospitals critically and seriously ill,all in 30/40mph built up areas..in seperate accidents. Most allegedly according to witnesses, due to car drivers making moves and not seeing them. Relative to the TT and the number of bikers killed or injured every day on UK roads, the statistics surely are you are safer doing 130mph on the IOM in the TT on closed roads, than going down to your local shops at 30/40mph. From my own experience I know in which enviroment I would be more relaxed, having been critically injured (13weeks in hospital)in a non fault 35 mph road bike accident and then later on riding the TT course when I lived on the Island. Under the previous long thread on the TT was a 2 line thread on the accidents/ fatalities on The Jim Clark Rally, you failed to make any comment on the "safety" issues in car rallies, those 3 people killed and the MANY injured that DAY! in the TWO serious ,seperate accidents, were sadly spectators.
