Probably didn't want to upset the cheques coming his way.
Think the stewards had already set the wrong tone by failing to punish Schumi and Alonso for similar incidents. Wonder if it had have been Hamilton up the inside, would he have risked taking them both off? They always say Schumi is his mentor, bit like taking out Hill to secure the championship?
