Probably is the thermo coupling. The end of it sits in the flame of the pilot light, it expands with the heat and allows the gas to flow. If the pilot is blown out it cools and stops the flow of gas. Check it hasn't moved out of the flame. You often have to dismantle a bit of the appliance to get at it, but is usually quite straight forward to replace.
