14-20psi are typical tyre pressures for an F1 car of Senna's era. I'd imagine they're pretty similar for todays cars but because aero outweighs most other considerations, F1 has some very specialised engineering solutions so could be doing anything with pressures these days.
Anyway, such stories are always told about highly revered drivers. Generally they have an element of truth in them but are largely exaggerated. Anyone who questions Senna's ability as a driver has little credibility. He was obviously an exceptional talent. To question his racing ethics is more understandable; he was particularly divisive in that way.
Lets not forget that, during his life, he was as much a love/hate figure as Schumacher was thereafter.
