Itpro - All valid points and I see where you are coming from with what you say. It is all going to come down to personal preference at the end of the day. One guys idea of genius is the next guys idea of a nutter.

Personally, I think to drive/ride anything to its limit takes b*lls. Whether the vehicle of choice is a sled, snowboard, powerboat, plane, f1 car, motogp bike. They are still using their skill to take their machine/equipment as to its limits.

This seems to be resorting to a 2 wheel vs 4 wheel debate. I would sit on the 2 wheel side of the fence. I think to develop a machine that can lean so far and go so fast is incredible, and the riders typically have a much greater understanding of their machine. This I think shows in their ability to succesfully transfer over to car racing for fun or in the off season. Just for fun, check out this guy on his supermoto

Yes F1 drivers have cajones too... the risks are different and it is impressive how fast they can corner an f1 car, but I get the feeling that the driver is of far less importance than on a bike.

You used the monaco tunnel as an example of b*lls. Actually that is stupidity, no one can overtake at monaco anyway so why go through at 180mph when they could do 50mph and no one could pass anyway ;)

All in all, its horses for courses. Yes F1 cars go round a track faster than a bike and yes bikes are much cooler! :) at the end of the day if you crash either of them badly enoguh you will end up in hospital, its just choosing if you want to turn up in an all in one baby outfit or your finest kangaroo leather power ranger gear!
