I too suffer from bruxism, have for many years. (See bruxism.org.uk for advice)
At night I use a hard acrylic (not sports, soft) toothguard and have ground my way through several.
When racing I use a sports mouthguard, because I clench my teeth hard enough to splinter them. I have bitten my way through several. Another cure is to overtake people, relieving the stress..... so I use the mouthguard.
It's a habit, (which doesn't make it easier to break) and as yet no-one is completely sure what causes it. However, you have joined the 5% of bruxers who get it badly enough to cause pain and damage! You are also part of that particular elite "karting bruxers", membership now known to be 2.
However, biting someone in parc ferme can not be excused on the grounds that you were merely relieving intolerable pain.
