'All I want is for you, and others, to EXPLAIN it to me..... or face the fact that the supporters really DO rate motorcyclists' lives as LESS important than F1 drivers' lives'
Do try and LISTEN Ian, no one is saying that anyone's lives are less important than others, what the majority are saying is that if the riders thought the event was too dangerous then THEY would say so and THEY would ask for safety to be improved. F1 is a shadow of it's former self now that we don't visit the old tracks and race the old incredibly powerful (but lethal) cars, and I would not be the only one that wishes the drivers these days had to drive the old cars.
If you had your way and banned the TT, I am pretty sure you would have THOUSANDS of angry bikers that would tear you to shreds for destroying their unique event. Are you that arrogant as to assume you know whats best for all these riders. I suppose you'd ban sky diving or rock climbing, or even ban people from scaling Mount Everest, all in the name of safety!??? We've all got to die one day don't you know!
Not banning those events does not mean we do not value those peoples lives, it's just that they have chosen to participate in these things, and we should admire them for their bravery and courage, not try and ban them from doing these dangerous hobbies!
