Chris, Your missing my point.
It's the term " fell to pieces " which I disagree with.

Jenson was cautious toward the end of the season.

Remember that the car fell off in pace compared to the Red Bull and McLaren

In the last 5 races he only lost
8 Points to Vettel
Gained 2 on Barrachello
Gained 5 on Webber

That's not "falling to pieces", that's good driving and becoming the 2009 world champion.

In my view " falling to pieces " is:
Stalling on start line.
Putting the car into the barrier on the first lap.
Doing a dan dare move down the inside of someone, close your eyes & hope it comes off.

I may agree with Tensed up, after all I'm sure we would all get a little tense if we were going for our first F1 world championship.

Anyway he won it fair and square without putting anyone in to the barriers, no lying, no cheating and no team orders.
