Let's see if we can tempt him.....

Everyone should know by now the futility of man's (very un-pc) interventions on this planet. What we do may cause a gradual change in temperature or whatever. A change in activity in the Sun for a short period would dwarf these changes many thousands of times.
That's the point - the Sun controls all changes in the solar system. As those wonderful pictures linked above show, it's been going on since the dawn of time.

However, the climate change lobby (it's so large now we'll never get rid of it) does serve some purpose - it highlights the need for conservation, recycling and control of resources.
It also reveals the true problem: the global population.

Right, now I can't sit here all day. I only popped in from the garage to warm up a bit - must get back to rebuilding the brakes!

Burn it while you can!
