When i raced bikes, the last year i can remember having asbestos in pads was 1992. However my sponsor had bought the last remaining asbestos lockhead pads, so maybe the use of asbestos was stopped the year or so before this.

I share your concerns, i used to think it was great to stand in the clouds of brake dust when the lads in me dads workshop used to blow out the old brake drums when cars were being serviced.

But you cant worry about it now!! Because if that doesnt get you something else will.
