We may not have as much snow as you guys ( currently) but i have been bogged in soft red dust ....and 2' of mud ...in exactly the same spot within 12 hrs !!
..and that is in a "serious" specialised off road Toyota "troopy" !

Any "serious" 4x4 down here would have a few permanent bits of kit on board.
1) "snatch strap" ( elastic tow rope) for hauling someone else out of a bog
2) Electric winch .. for those impossible situations !
3) 12v compressor..for adjusting tyre pressures to suit conditions ( low for sand, dust or mud. high for road work)
4)tall jack.. for lifting out of sand bogs.
