Well in karting maybe the amount of cheating does vary from country to country, but football is such an international business that I doubt there’s much difference. Plus, in motorsport, you answer mostly to yourself for your decisions, unless you happen to be one of the tiny minority who are well paid for driving.
Can you honestly imagine any professional player from any country owning up and losing such an important goal? There is just too much money at stake for too many people. If nothing else, such a player would – behind closed doors – be pilloried by coaches, team members and many others. That player would be publicly praised by all and sundry, and then shunned for ever more.
