Something more karting related i did with an old nassau panel, drill through the centre of the number plate area, cheap clock mechanism from a craft shop mounted from behind, bolts for the time markings and hang it on the wall, voila! nassau panel clock.

Has to keep remanants of dirt from its last outing for that authentic look
