Those of us have been riding motorbikes for years know that the biggest danger is that car drivers don't see you. Hence the (very welcome) Think Bike and more recently "Take longer to look for Bikes" campaigns.

Seems entirely appropriate we have "Think Car" campaigns for pedestrians. According to DFT stats 50% of accidents to pedestrians are entirely the pedestrian's fault. So why shouldn't they shoulder 50% of the responsibility?

I regularly see mothers allowing their toddlers to wander free on the footpaths in our village. And while it may be thought OK (to some) to suggest draconian penalties for speeding motorists, it's not PC to suggest similar penalties for mothers. Surely it's (at very least) as irresponsible.
