I understand how modern culture has evolved and how people just get sucked into it without thinking about it. Most people then have kids without even giving it more consideration as to whether they should have a dog or cat.

However having kids, whether they are school age or not, should be considered a full time job for one parent, if you can't afford it don't have them or reduce your finacial expectations to suit. It's no use moaning later when you can't get the time off work when it snows.
