Chad you can, to varying degrees, accuse activists on both sides of using this “reverse scientific method” technique in films and on the internet. This is why the entire point of the scientific method and peer review is that there can be no preconceived conclusion, the conclusion can only be arrived at through unbiased repeatable analysis of empirical data.

Now not even climate change sceptics, due to the mass of concurrent scientific data and study, deny that there is unaccountable global temperature increase. Their argument is over the degree to which this can be attributed to human activity, the severity of the effects and therefore what measures if any can or should be taken.

Unless of course you are Singers the epitome of the “reverse scientific method” who merrily ignores this scientific data or attempts to discredit it through internet pseudo-science. Lets take at random one of his sources:

http://www.prisonplanet.com/earth-being-bombarded-by-dark-matter.html

Quite how dark matter that is undetected, only hypothesised and therefore not understood by scientists can have any influence on the climate, I do not know and the article makes absolutely no reference to this either. However this is from the website Prison Planet that is owned by and is the mouthpiece of Alex Jones.

Alex Jones’ tag line is “the truth will set you free”, the true irony of which you can only begin to appreciate, when you note that this is the man that has been caught doctoring photographic and eyewitness testimony in order to claim:

He predicted the terrorist 9/11 attacks.
The planes hit the Trade Center under remote control, carrying explosive pods and no passengers aboard.
The Trade Centers then collapsed due to controlled demolition using a theoretical formulation of Thermite that doesn’t exit.
That a missile or unmanned drone, not a plane hit the Pentagon.
The fourth plane was shot down after the passengers had disembarked, using advanced computer synthesis the CIA faked the calls by the passengers to their loved ones.
The UN and US vaccination program is a sinister plot to cause mass loss of life.
That contrails from commercial aircraft are actually “chemtrails” deliberately deployed to cause further mass loss of life.
This mass population reduction is masterminded by the worlds ruling elite, the Jews and global bankers, known as the New World Order.
The New World Order are members of the Illuminati, who are actually Extra-terrestrial “Reptilians” disguised as humans and hell bent on world domination.

Well Singers, I think the old saying “if it looks like sh*t and stinks like sh*t, it probably is sh*t” is appropriate here.
