My father and I, during a discussion with a karting friend of mine, came up with an Excuse scale.
Its called the Karting Crap Scale
This is a scale of excuses that are often heard by drivers / mechanics It consists of:
1) Chassis Crap: This is when the chassis just isn't fast enough. No matter how hard the driver works, he just cannot get it where he deserves to be;
2) Engine Crap: This is when the engine just won't pull. This is often the fault of the mechanic, who should "pull his bloody finger out"
3) Tyres Crap: This can be combined with Chassis Crap to provide a truly shocking outfit.
4) Mechanic Crap: Mechanics are, 9 times out of 10, the reason for a Crap Result. This is the most commonly used excuse, as if in doubt, blame the mechanic.
However, there is a mechanics comeback
5) Driver Crap. A reason never used by the driver himself, although is diagnosed commonly by the mechanic. This can be when, after careful searching of the Chassis/Engine/Tyres/Mechanic, there is simply no reason for the Crap Result. It will never be admitted to by said driver, but is often there.
Anyone agree?
