It wouldn't be much of a loss.
F1 has been so boring for many many years now.
How on earth The current world champion can get excited about his win is beyond me.Any driver on the current grid would be world champ in a current merc.Too much money involved. Similar to soccer.
It's on it's way out, unless they change things fast. Bigger , more reliable and fixed hp engines.
I'd say 3.0litre minimum. No radios allowed. A proper manual gearbox, with a stick. narrow tyres which last the whole race. Little or no aerodynamics, thus allowing slipstreaming. It's garbage as it is currently ran. How can it be any use when alonso and co are at the rear of the grid.?
