True experience is not just about understanding what it's like to be successful, it's understanding what it's like to fail and what's it's like to be successful, you learn from mistakes. Vettel is actually a good example about that one.

Alonso couldn't help Ferrari, Ferrari were on a downward spiral with the teams structure, there is only so much a driver can do, they can't manage a team they can only give feedback on the car. The problems Ferrari had were the structure of the team, not the money or resources.

Maclaren have made tons of bad decisions, but they always have a team that's willing to work hard and never give up. They have had lot's success both in the past and in recent times. There is not one team on the grid who has been successful all the time for the last 20 years. Just because they have had a few bad seasons it doesn't mean they are a bad team, they are just not quite up there, but that could easily change very quickly (look at Williams).

Honda had a quick car with BAR, they just had the wrong drivers. Button was quick but at the time he was way out of his depth, can't remember the race now but I think it was at Spa, just got slaughtered, but the driver he is now wouldn't have been such a push over. Put the driver he is now back in that race and the result would have been a lot different.

In the six years they had with Bar it was reasonably successful, considering that BAR were not a team like Maclaren or Williams I think they had reasonable success.
