Don't think anyone claimed he was a great. He's not everyone's cup of tea but he's a four time world champion. I was just making the point that I was surprised to see him top the time sheets. I think the only team with any interest in sand bagging will be mercedes. The rest I'm sure will just want to know how quick they are. And hence to see Vettel up there raised my eyebrows. As for mclaren, I suspect this will be a season of much head scratching. If Honda produce anything half decent I'd be amazed. A lot rests on Prodromu regardless and I can't help but think the 'recipe' isn't one destined for greatness. 1988 was 27 years ago and other than the fact it's the same engine/chassis combination there are precisely zero additional similarities. Worth a bit of discussion though!
