If you want to get depressed about driving standards, have a go at asking young people, even those who are about to, or have just taken, their test what the sequence of lights is as a standard (i.e., not pedestrian crossing) lights is. I have yet to find ONE who actually KNOWS the sequence. Try it, it'll spoil your day, beautifully!

Don't even DREAM of asking them the rules on where the MUST NOT overtake or park..... or what the yellow cross hatching at certain junctions means!
