Look at the situation.... when has a BIG car manufacturer who actually tried to CONTROL the F1 team actually been SUCCESFUL?

It's only Renault that has managed it but even that's questionable.... 'Enstone Team' ran it with Renault money but NOT interference from the Board.

Look at the rest:-

BMW
Toyota
Honda (not in the 1960s)
Jaguar
Alfa (ok.... that's half joking....)

A HUGE list of successes there...... Why would anyone think an interfering Mercedes board would know ANYTHING about F1 cars????

Fiat are the exception in that Fiat owns FIAt (the Red team) but they let them get ON with it..... and they have ONLY been successful (since the 1970s) while they RIGGED the rules!
