lbsf1, I think you answer your own question in your first line:
"Ok lets compromise they are both pathetic at the moment, labour will ruin the country if they get in power (and do you really trust milliband) and the conservatives are obviously out of touch with the population and hence won't be able to implement sucessful popular policies."
In short:
* Labour will ruin the country * Conservatives will not be popular
If you would rather the country in ruins than have an unpopular government, your right to vote should be withdrawn.
How popular would a government really be if they actually ruined the country?
I struggle to see any other party other than Conservative and Labour having a significant look in at the next election.
The previous one was the most open in my lifetime, and even that was still a two way fight with a bolt on, best of the rest Liberal party (whom have lost most of their credibility over the last few years – so their voting percentage will reduce at the next election) required for the pendulum to swing in either direction.
For me (and really should be for all who give a damn and wish to succeed in life) it is an easy decision. I do not wish to see the country in ruins!
