I must apologise in my haste I'd forgotten the tories introduced the fuel duty escalator in 1993.

They are both bad.

But I'm reminded of what my mother used to say, and that I sneered at in my naive idealistic youth, both working class from council estates, strivers I guess, "Labour? Labour don't like you to have any money", and my father - "It takes the tories to fix the economy after Labour make another mess of it", of course neither was still alive to see their latest calamity. But the benefit of hindsight only comes with age and experience.
