You're both right.

JB did beat LH in Quali and the race. However, JB gained no places more than LH did, so in that sense they matched each others performances.

In a car clearly not handling brilliantly (I was wincing at the masses of understeer lewis had at times) Lewis drove a solid race. JB really should've been able to beat Kamui, but once again we saw that in a straight fight JB can't overtake. Best thing to say is that they matched performances
