indeed, but if you were to do any analysis on the queues they would appear static from above, e.g. ABCD turns into BCDE as A leaves

but in the crush situation you cant stop as the guy behind wont allow it, e.g. ABCD becomes ABCDE then ABCDEF, etc. all in the same space as ABCD was previously happily exisiting.
