Quite simply Ian he won because it was a joint effort of man and machine combined that doesn’t detract from the fact he still was a bloody good driver but in his own words probably not the most naturally gifted on the grid. It is no different to the current situation in F1 I personally don’t think vettle is the best driver in F1 at the moment but the combination of a good driver in a winning car = success. I hear where you’re coming from on a fair grid but it’s never going to happen they are far too many variables to make any form of racing fair. I personally enjoy the challenge of the technical aspect of the sport just as much as the driving, engineering and motorsport go together hand in hand without people trying to push the envelope and come up with brilliant new ideas how would we ever move forward?
