Just read this example:-

You'll note, the describe the 'matter' as:-

"... off-throttle blown diffusers...."

That seems to describe what I was saying.... the effect of 'blowing' the diffuser occurs when OFF the throttle.

That would seem to eliminate the idea of leaving the throttle open but not injecting fuel or spark.
