Errrr..... public pressure did WHAT?

Public pressure has FAILED to stop: wars on Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan.

It has failed to stop us signing-up for more EU tripe without a referendum.

It failed to stop Brown bailing out the banks, paying HUGE golden hand-shakes, removing Fred-the-shred's pansion, us being forced to allow prisoners the vote.... etc.

It has failed to stop cuts in: the military, health service, council services, employment, police, road-repairs, salt in our road-bins, MASSIVE hike in the tax-take from fuel costs.... and a list longer than I can be bothered to type...

.... and yet you PRETEND to believe in 'public pressure' affecting speed cameras.......? That's FARCICAL!

Not only that, had you BOTHERED to read the figures, you'd actually find that there is a 75% ACCEPTANCE value (I.e., approve of the use of speed cameras) amongst the voting public..... They do not like being CAUGHT, themselves, but 75% of the public want YOU (and those like you,.... bar themselves, of course) to be CAUGHT!

Thirdly, how MUCH public pressure would there have been had they raised Road Fund tax? If the LAST hike was anything to go by, then there was F*** ALL when it was raised.

To add to the daftness of your claim, IF public pressure was a strong as you like to PRETEND it was, then the very LAST thing that cameras were, was 'EASY revenue'. In political terms, if YOU are right, then it's the 180 degree OPPOSITE of 'EASY'!

So.... unless you are pretending to be QUITE as thick as Clarkson, even YOU can see that the claim 'easy revenue' is a J*O*K*E!

Finally, you MAY just have noticed that, becasue of the MASSIVE rise in speeding and accidents at sites where they have turned off cameras, you'll be already aware that a number of 'partnerships' have already turned ON the cameras again (by 'moving MONEY' from one account to another)..... Strong stuff this 'public pressure'.... it had an effect for about 6 months....

By all means, remain in your fantasy land! However, 10 seconds of thought show that, above all else, the very LAST thing that Cameras are is 'easy money'.

Next you'll be claiming to have seen fairies at the bottom of your garden! It's about as believable!
