All of it just moving the pollution somewhere else. Battery power requires a tremendous amount of 'carbon' to ship the battery components around the world then the electricity that charge them is bad unless it comes from renewable or nuclear. Hydrogen is the same problem, is stuff full of precious metal so have to be shipped all over the world and require hydrogen made using electricity from somewhere bad unless nuclear or renewable.
Having said all that, I'm for hydrogen, its just another battery but you don't have to charge it, you fill it up instead. If the carbon based fuel cells (rather then precious metal based) actually work when they've finished testing them (there was some hype about it last year) then that will kill everything.
