You appear to made a typo so I've corrected it for you:

You have to compare like for like. A Mac is like an appliance; similar to a DVD player. It does what it does but nothing else. It's easy to make such a device reliable.
On the other hand, Windows is more likea multitool; it can be used for pretty much anything and works with a wide range of hardware.
Linux is like the whole toolbox. It can do absolutely anything on pretty much any hardware, but you either have to hunt around for the right tool, or make a new tool yourself.
