Well the most notorious cheating in F1 story was Brabham in 1983 when Piquet suddenly in the last third of the season found he had a massive advantage over Prosts Renault due to illegal fuel supplied by BASF. He subsequently overhauled Prosts once safe points lead to become WDC. Various people involved have admitted so since, to my mind BMWs first (and only) world championship is somewhat tainted. Then again Piquets 81 championship was tainted because of the illegal suspension on the Brabhams, but thats another story...
